Secure, enhanced internet connection
A MPLS (Multi-protocol Label Switching) system utilises an ordinary network to improve performance and speed. By inserting a MPLS label onto the top of each packet in a router, network traffic is greatly reduced.
The label denotes a specific path from its starting point to the destination, reducing the time required by the router to search for a node address. It is essentially an integration of label switching with network layer routing.
MPLS is a multi-protocol that works with IP, ATM, Packet-over-Sonet, Ethernet and Frame Relay communications technologies.
It allows an organisation to connect all its workstations and offices together.
Using the MPLS protocol, network failure and traffic build up can be combated by directing the connection through a different route.
